Troubleshooting
The service keeps restarting, exit code 78
asql-serve cannot read /etc/aios/asql.conf. It must be readable by the aios user:
sudo chown root:aios /etc/aios/asql.conf
sudo chmod 0640 /etc/aios/asql.conf
The service will not start after 30 days
The trial has ended. aios license status says so. Install a license and restart:
sudo /opt/aios/bin/aios license install customer.license
sudo systemctl restart aios-compute
Local clients get in without a password
That happens only while no MYSQL_USER is set. Set MYSQL_USER and MYSQL_PASS_FILE.
Remote clients cannot connect
With no MYSQL_USER, the server listens on 127.0.0.1 only. Set a main login and MYSQL_BIND=0.0.0.0, and open port 3307 in the firewall.
A token login is refused
Token logins are accepted from 127.0.0.1 only by default, and the client must allow mysql_clear_password (mysql --enable-cleartext-plugin).
The mirror is behind or a table does not match
/opt/aios/bin/asql-check --quick # lag
/opt/aios/bin/asql-check orders # compare one table with the source
Check the source logs with binlog_format=ROW: changes logged as statements never reach the mirror. A write made in ASQL to a mirrored table is overwritten by the next change from the source.
Writes are refused in strict mode
Strict mode is off by default. With AIOS_SQL_STRICT=1, invalid dates and too-long values are errors; set sql_mode per session if one application needs the old behaviour.
